Software I use, gadgets I love, and other things I recommend.

I'm not afraid of change and will test products, if you haven't already asked, here's my growing list of things that make my day to day life 1% better everyday.

Workstation

  • 16” MacBook Pro, M3 Max

Mac is my preferred OS for development. I love the UI and the ecosystem. As you may already know, this has enough juice to power my entire setup while handling everything at a professional level.

  • LG 32 Inch UltraFine™ Display Ergo 4K HDR10 Monitor

I can never go back to a non-4K monitor. It looks fantastic, especially since I got to color calibrate it. The bezels are the perfect size, allowing me to add my light accessories on top without it covering up the screen.

  • Logitech MX Keys Mini

Connected to Logitech Logi Bolt wireless connection. It is by far my favorite keyboard I’ve ever used. The key noticebly allow me to type faster and more accurately. The MX Keys Mini is the perfect size for my desk and I love how quickly it connects because I use the bolt receiver. The backlight is also a must have for me, as I enjoy working in the dark.

  • Logitech MX Master 3S

Connected to Logitech Logi Bolt wireless connection. I’ve been using the MX Master 3 for a few years now and it’s definitely comfortable to use. The software is also great, allowing me to switch between screens with a quick swipe.

  • BenQ ScreenBar Halo LED Monitor Light

Let’s just say I’m a big fan of Amazon’s return policy. Thankfully, I never had to return this product. It has completely redefined my work environment. I can now work in the dark without any eye strain, and generally always turn it on even during the day because it works so well.

  • Litra Glow LED Streaming Light

I do not stream, but I really dislike the lighting when it comes to video calls. As that will always be a part of my job, I decided to get this light. It does the job perfectly, providing with even and consistent lighting. I have even found a secondary use as a background light when I am away from the desk.

  • TBT200 Thunderbolt™ 4 Dock

Nothing is cleaner than a single cable connecting to my MacBook. This dock is my Bently of docks, providing me with all the ports I need. I have it connected to my monitor, ethernet, power, and the Logitech Bolt receiver for my keyboard and mouse.

  • Stream Deck

I do not stream, but I couldn't resist a programmable deck of buttons. I use it to quickly open apps, run shortcuts, and even control my lights. Still working on setting up the best layout for my workflow, but I'm loving it so far. If you have any suggestions, please let me know!

  • Ember Mug 2 (Black - 10oz)

Loving this mug for its ability to keep my coffee hot for longer periods. It's a top gift in my daily life, thanks to my Fiancé. My routine includes making an americano roughly 90 minutes after I wake. Even a Fellow mug can not compare. You have to realize Ember mug allows your drink to cool down to your favorite drinking temp and stay there - especially for tea.

Development tools

  • VS Code

I’ve been using VS Code for years now and it’s still my favorite. The vast amount of extensions bring it together and I love the built-in terminal (although it is spiced up with Oh My Zsh).

  • Arc Browser

Arc Browser is the best alternative to Chrome. It is built on top of Chromium, so it is just as fast, but it is much more private. It blocks trackers and ads by default, and it has a built-in VPN. It also has a great UI and is very customizable. The MAIN reason I use it the way it handles profiles in "spaces".

Productivity

  • Fantastical

Great tool for scheduling meetings while protecting my calendar and making sure I still have lots of time for deep work during the week. Mainly use it for the natural language input and because it incorporates Apple reminders.

  • Timemator

I use this to track my time for work and personal projects. It has a great UI and is very easy to use. I love that it automatically tracks my time based on the apps I use.

  • Paste

I use Paste to keep track of my clipboard history. It has a great UI and is very easy to use. It really allows me to focus since I know I can refer to my clipboard history later.

Health

  • Bolt

Track your workouts. You'll be able to see your progress and how you've improved over time.

  • Athletic Greens AG1

I've been using Athletic Greens for a few months now and I prefer it over coffee in the morning. It has become a great morning routine, since I've struggled drinking water when I wake up, but now I tend to go for a walk with it and feel more awake. It really does seem like I have more energy throughout the day.

  • Whoop 4.0

I've been using Whoop for a few months now and it has really helped me understand my body. I've been able to optimize my sleep and recovery, which has improved my overall health. I'll be cooking up a blog post about my experience soon.
